Rules, Regulations & Agreement
- Permitted performers may include musicians, magicians, mimes or any similar types of performing artists allowed by the City of Bristol Tennessee.
- Performers MUST provide a valid address and phone number to receive a permit.
- Performers must submit a driver’s license or state ID (or photocopy of either) with this application.
- Application must be completed at least 24 hours prior to date of performance.
- Performers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at performance location and be present during the entire performance. The parent must sign all application and release forms granting permission for the minor to perform.
- Performers must obtain a permit from the Department of Community Relations at Tennessee High School’s Viking Hall for the appropriate time and location to perform.
- Performers may apply for permits during office hours at Viking Hall – 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
- There will be no exchange of payment between the City and the performer.
- Performers must display permit while performing.
- Performers shall be responsible for all needed equipment, special needs, parking, set-up, etc.
- No amplification sound/music is allowed.
- Performers may accept donations from the public but only when the Busk Stop Central permit is obtained and the City’s allocated box is used.
- Performers must return the donation box to the Community Relations Office within 12 hours of the performance. If the performance is over the weekend, then the donation box must be returned on the following Monday. If donation box is NOT returned within allotted time, performer will not be booked within 30 days of previous performance.
- Performers may sell their own merchandise during allocated time and at the specified location given by the City. Performer must submit a sample of the merchandise to the City of Bristol Tennessee for approval.
- The Busk Stop Central program will work on a first come, first serve basis. Performers will be allowed to sign up for no more than three performances at a time and no more than the next month in advance.
- The use of profane, indecent, abusive or threatening language or behavior will result in denial or revocation of a permit.
- Performers must wear appropriate clothing and maintain a neat and clean appearance at all times while performing in the Busk Stop Central program. Shoes and shirt are required.
- The City of Bristol Tennessee reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to deny or revoke a permit, or to cancel a performance.
Performance times at the Busk Stop Central are Monday through Sunday 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM. Performance times are limited to two hours per day.
